Artlist enters the software game with new video and image editing apps

Last year, music licensing company Artlist acquired software developers FXhome, creators of popular video editing app HitFilm, among others. Since the acquisition things have been a bit quiet, but Artlist today announced its first software release under the FXhome by Artlist brand which combines video and image editing with visual effects, revamping the products that they took over during the acquisition.

The new update brings a new pricing model. Don’t worry, there’s still a 100% free version that includes HitFilm’s basic video editing tools with unlimited exports up to HD and the ability to download 10 royalty-free songs, 25 sound effects, and 5 templates. But there are also Creator, Pro, and Enterprise tiers for those with more demanding needs.

The new paid tiers will include educational content with a new “Learn Panel”, which includes tutorial videos and a creative library with Artlist assets available as part of each subscription tier. Artlist says the move to the subscription model will allow a wide range of entry-level creators to use video editing tools and software, though they say perpetual licenses for those who make the one-time purchase for HitFilm Pro and other FXhome products will still be supported. and maintained.

We’ve been user-first from the start, and our decision to introduce this product upgrade is rooted in that. It was so important to us to do this in a way that stays true to users who prefer our existing model while expanding affordability and accessibility,” says Josh Davies, VP of Software at Artlist and Founder of FXhome. . “HitFilm, CamTrackAR, Imerge, and the rest of the programs we offer are already tailor-made for creators. Now the purchase model is too.

To celebrate the launch. Artlist is offering special introductory prices for all paid tiers with up to 23% off regular prices.

  • Creator will be available with a monthly subscription of $9.99 and an annual subscription of $74.99; then $12.99 per month and $89.99 per year after the promotion period
  • Pro will be available with a monthly subscription of $15.99 and an annual subscription of $119.99; then $19.99 per month and $149.99 per year after the promotion period

The Enterprise tier is suitable for organizations with custom pricing and even more features.

You can read more about the new subscription tiers and what they all include here on the FXhome by Artlist website and if you’re not a fan of the subscription model you can find the perpetual licenses here.
