Weekend Warrior – Welcome Back

After a long break, Weekend Warrior is back and ready to ring the best time of the week: the weekend! the game informant the staff is busy with all sorts of recent releases from big games like Horizon Forbidden West, Dying Light 2 and Lost Ark. Let’s hear from some of the team members to see how they plan to spend the holiday long weekend.

Jill Grodt– With incredible game releases left and right and absolutely gorgeous weather, this weekend is certainly shaping up to be good. I plan to explore every inch of the Forbidden West, find new ways to take down big machines, and see if I can spot any familiar landmarks in a reclaimed San Francisco. I also need to find some time this weekend to continue filling out my Pokédex in Pokémon Legends: Arceus because, despite its flaws, I love being able to go out and hunt down my favorite creatures in the wild. But I better hurry because Elden Ring is only a week away!

Brian Shea – This weekend, I’m continuing my journey through Dying Light 2. I’m still pretty early, but having a great time. As much as I’m tempted by Horizon Forbidden West, I’ve realized recently that I just need to focus on one big open game at a time, or I’ll never finish any of them.

Andrew Reiner – For the first time in three years, I’m hanging out with my board game group for the weekend. We’ve played Unfathomable before, which I highly recommend if you like betrayal mechanics. We’ll see how long we have, but the plan is to get a ride for all of these games: Captain Sonar, Forgotten Waters, El Dorado, Tyrants of the Underdark, The Captain is Dead, Nemesis, and Eldritch Horror. I also look forward to reading the latest issues of Donny Cates Pontoon and Thor.

Alex Van Aken – My wife Kayla and I love reality TV. Like, wrong. We are currently halfway the island of love Season 6, and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorites so far. Callum and Shaugna’s relationship is a roller coaster, Paige and Finley are the cutest couple since Jack and Dani in season 4, and narrator Iain Stirling is amazing as always. If you are a fan of The single person, Love is blindor even The circle, you have to watch Love Island (UK). Be sure to start with Season 4, then Season 6, and if you’re interested in watching this trash fire of a TV show, then you’re in good company.

Kimberley Wallace– I plan to finally watch the finale of Peacemaker, which was a lot of fun and much better than I expected. Other than that, with Horizon Forbidden West completed, I’ll finally be heading to Dying Light 2. Oh yeah, and reading comics! I love the new She-Hulk and Hawkeye: Kate Bishop series.

Wesley LeBlanc – It started. Can you smell it? We are one week away from the release of From Software’s Elden Ring. This weekend, I won’t be playing games. I will not watch TV. I will neither eat nor drink. I will meditate and prepare this mortal vessel called Wesley to become tarnished. It’s my destiny. I will prepare not only my soul, but also my mind, and not only my mind, but also my brain. I can do it. I will do it. I became Elden Ring.

John Carson – We are coming to the end of the second month of the year, and I already feel like I am catching up. This weekend, I’ll be exploring what level cap content looks like in Lost Ark and blocking out a few matches in The King of Fighters XV. I’ll also dive deeper into Magic: The Gathering’s Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty either through Magic Arena or by sitting down at a game store and writing it in person. We’ll see how adventurous I want to be. Neon Dynasty is a set I can’t help but think of with intricate and fun designs that inspire lots of creative play. When I’m not playing games (or while I’m playing), I plan to keep up to date with the latest The weather is always good season and maybe a few episodes of Peacemaker for good measure.

What games are you playing this weekend? Have you picked Horizon Forbidden West and are you ready to explore with Aloy, or are you honing your Souls skills for the impending and towering release of Elden Ring next week? We want to hear all about movies, music, books, comics, manga, and everything else you spend time with in the comments below!
