Game director Hidetaka Miyazaki has confirmed that Elden Ring will feature the types of Easter eggs and references to previous From Software games that fans have come to know and love.
From Software has long been known for including popular weapons, characters, and other callbacks in each of their role-playing game franchises, despite the games not usually being connected in an official capacity. Among the best known of these is the Moonlight Sword – which originally appeared simply as the Moonlight Sword in King’s Field – and has been in every title except Sekiro.
It looks like not much has changed with Elden Ring, as the Moonlight Greatsword has been confirmed for the game, as has the unique Storm Ruler Greatsword from Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls III. Additionally, we’ll encounter the Infinitely Deceptive Patches, which first appeared in the unrelated Armored Core franchise before becoming a mainstay in the Souls series.
But that doesn’t seem like the end of the Elden Ring Easter Eggs that celebrate From Software’s legacy. Miyazaki teased that there will be plenty to find for those who pay enough attention. “I can confidently say yes this time,” Miyazaki said. game informant. “Elden Ring is the kind of game that forgives a huge feeling of volume and volume. And so I felt I had the right to include those things this time. So yeah, you’ll find them if you look strong enough.”
Miyazaki also recently addressed the tough talk surrounding From Software’s library of difficult titles, saying he feels it’s a “worth talking.”
Elden Ring will launch on February 25 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X and PC.
